Deadpool & Wolverine get exciting news from test screenings

A supposed early response to a test screening Deadpool and Wolverine surfaced online.

With the end of July quickly approaching, the hype is ahead Deadpool and Wolverine just seems to be building. The only MCU film of 2024 tries to deliver R-rated excitement, with plenty of laughs thrown in for good measure.

The film will see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s iconic Marvel characters face off against a threat that could spell certain doom for the Multiverse.

Positive early word on the quality of Deadpool 3

On The Hot Mic podcast, co-host Jeff Sneider shared what he heard about the reactions Deadpool and Wolverine from a test screening held for the film, noting that this is reportedly the case “very good:”

“This looks like my little Marvel update here: Deadpool came in really well. That’s an early word.”

Marvel Studios often holds test screenings for its upcoming films, but these are typically only for Marvel employees and those associated with the company. While many test screenings may be open to the public, that is not the case at Marvel.

As if this pre-release reaction wasn’t enough to get fans excited, director Shawn Levy recently gushed Deadpool and Wolverine to the Associated Press.

According to Levy, the threequel can be compared to classic ’80s “two hander stories” like it Planes, trains and carsin which the two leads are attached but not exactly aligned:

“They are a very interesting duo. They are built for enormous conflict with each other because they are so different individually. But that makes for a very interesting story, because the best two-hander stories, whether it’s “Midnight Run” or “48 Hours” or “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” yes, it’s riddled with conflict. But ultimately it is also about more and that is what the audience will see.”

Plus, the filmmaker said so Deadpool & WolverineThe goal is “audience delight”, adding that fans are “in for a very nice ride:”

“The film was made for the audience’s enjoyment. I think (they’re) in for a really fun ride.”

Why expectations for Deadpool 3 are high

At the time of writing, there are less than three months to go Deadpool and Wolverine cuts, dices and swears in theaters everywhere. Viewers are already eager to watch the film, and as July 26th approaches, they expect the hype levels to skyrocket.

With Wade Wilson and Logan teaming up for a multiversal misadventure and plenty of cameos in store, Deadpool 3 is poised to make a big hit with a global audience.

Not only is this surefire blockbuster set to release in late July, but just a day after it premieres in all theaters, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is set to take the stage at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H to reveal new details about a host of upcoming MCU projects.

This summer is indeed going to be a great time to be a Marvel fan.
