Finidi will work with home players – Eguavoen

NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen has announced that Super Eagles coach Finidi George, who coached champions Enyimba until his appointment, will work with locally based players.

“There is a percentage of players from the domestic league that will always be part of the Super Eagles,” Eguavoen said.

Speculation is rife that at least four Nigeria players will be called up for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.

The Super Eagles have been dominated by foreign-based stars for years.

Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo was the lone home player for the Eagles side during the AFCON in Ivory Coast in February.
