Indresh Malik aka Ustadji talks about collaborating with Sharmin Segal aka Alamzeb, ‘Bahut masti maari’ (Exclusive)

In Heeramandi, Indresh Malik plays the role of Ustadji. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, he reveals about the fun time he had with Sharmin Segal.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s web series Heeramandi has received quite a mixed review. It is streaming on Netflix and is among the most trending. Even though Heeramandi has received a lot of criticism, the web series is in the top 10 trending list. It is a multi-starrer web series Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal And Sanjeeda Sheikh playing the central roles. Indresh Malik plays the role of Ustadji and he is one of the impressive ones. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, he shared his experiences of working on Heeramandi and with the cast. During the interview, Indresh Malik talked about the fun time he spent with Sharmin Segal, who plays the role of Alamzeb in Heeramandi. He said they had a lot of fun together discussing fruits and vegetables. He jokingly said they would talk to the fruits and vegetables. They talked to the mango and said that they would eat it tomorrow because it would be ripe. He added, “Hum shimla mirch ke colors ko lekar baat karte de ki green shimla mirch acchi wali hoti hai, yellow thodi jealous hoti hai aur red wali angry hoti hai.” He added that their director would continue laughing while listening to their conversation. In the same interview, he also mentioned that he is a big fan of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and that Sonakshi Sinha made him uncomfortable on the sets. Watch his interview video above.

Heeramandi tells the story of courtesans from Lahore in the pre-independence era. It’s all about power and mind games. Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman and Tara Shah Badussa also play pivotal roles in the series. While the greatness of the series was loved by the masses, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was at the receiving end for many reasons. He has been called out for the way Heeramandi has been shown in the series, as many have commented on the nonsense on social media. Sharmin Segal has also received a lot of criticism for her acting. Despite everything, Heeramandi has gained wide recognition on Netflix and is currently one of the most watched Hindi web series.
