’28 Years Later’ Release Date June 2025

Danny Boyle’s long-awaited sequel 28 years later has been given an official release date.

Sony Pictures has announced that the upcoming film – the third in the post-apocalyptic horror series – will officially hit theaters on June 20, 2025. The cast is led by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell, while Cillian Murphy, who starred in Boyle’s 2002 original, has been appointed as executive producer. Alex Garland will also return to write the screenplay.

While plot details have yet to be revealed, the film was announced to be the first in an upcoming trilogy with the sequel set to be directed by Nia DaCosta.

28 years later follows that of 2007 28 weeks later, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s standalone sequel, and the 2002 one 28 days later.
