Lights, camera, action! Theater class

This new theater workshop is for ages 7-13. It runs from June 26-28. In this three-day crash course, students learn a scene, a song, choreography, building a set and designing a costume. The popular Little Black Box Theater ACT I and ACT II classes that culminate in a performance are also offered.

Mini magic sampler

This mini course will help students on their way to becoming real magicians. Each session includes a new trick to learn and a chance to perform in front of peers with performance tips. Registration for this class is repeatable as each session offers unique learning opportunities. Mini Magic Sampler is intended for ages 8 and older and is offered in three-week sessions from June 4 to July 23.

Summer Film Camp with Leapyear Studios, Jennifer Enskat and Andy Gardner

This weeklong, hands-on film camp is designed for high school students ages 14 to 18 who are interested in learning the basics of filmmaking. Students dive deep into the world of filmmaking as you learn the different crew positions from industry professionals. Students are introduced to grip and electricity, lighting, audio and cinematography while creating a short science fiction film. This camp runs from June 10 to 14 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a lunch break. Support for this program was provided by the Richland County Foundation’s Summertime Kids Grant and the Richland County Foundation’s Carl and Annamarie Fernyak Fund. The film “Ghost Hunters,” created by students in the Film Craft Basics class taught by Leapyear Studios at RAA last fall, can be viewed by visiting Ghost Hunters on YouTube.

Registration for the classes is ongoing and multi-class discounts will continue throughout the summer, along with a chance to win a $50 RAA gift card for early bird registration through May 31.
