The Valheim Ashlands update is now live and adds new enemies and weapons

Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Iron Gate have announced that the Ashlands update for Valheim is now live. The game has once again teamed up with BRIKK Animation to create a new trailer for the new biome, with the tagline: “Those strong enough to claim what is theirs can now lay siege to Ashlands and its terrible master.”

There are new enemies like “the new breed of Necks called the Asksvin or the winged Voltures that lie in wait to ambush unsuspecting prey,” says the developer, and much more with this new biome. Watch the new trailer below:

After conquering the Veiled Mistlands and learning how to wield magic, the Vikings will now have to fight tooth and nail to gain a foothold in the Ashlands. Treacherous cliffs and slippery dangers await in the boiling waters that only the strongest ships can navigate, and even arriving at the new biome will prove to be a challenge.

The Ashlands biome isn’t giving in and is redefining what difficulty means in Valheim. While much of the enemy forces are made up of reanimated dead known as Charred, far deadlier foes also await. Unlike her living sisters, the Fallen Valkyrie roams the skies of Ashlands, twisted by rage, and the monstrous Morgen stalks the scorched earth in search of prey to satisfy her eternal hunger.

“We didn’t want to just release another biome, but with fire instead of mist,” says Valheim producer Andreas Tomasson. “Ashlands should feel like a struggle, and players should expect a challenge. Every inch of territory you claim must be earned, and every outpost fortified before you move deeper. We are entering endgame territory here and players must be ready for what comes in the Deep North.”

In the game, along with this update, you can now craft catapults and battering rams, as well as a new Slayer greatsword, a Splitnir spear, and a Ripper crossbow, all three of which can be further enhanced with gems that give them natural powers. , blood and storm.

Valheim is out now for PC.
