Watch as a tornado hits a Tiger Woods golf course near Branson, Missouri

An unexpected tornado appeared Monday at Payne’s Valley Golf Course in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. The course, designed by famed golfer Tiger Woods, is located just south of Branson in a tree-filled location surrounded by rolling hills.

Around 3 p.m. local time, a storm intensified near the Arkansas border and moved toward Payne’s Valley and the city of Hollister. It became a rotating thunderstorm or supercell along its way, eventually triggering the first of several severe thunderstorm warnings at 3:50 p.m. – after the tornado had already struck the golf course.
