Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears have officially scheduled a home-and-home series against the SMU Mustangs for the 2025 and 2026 college football seasons.

The first game of the series begins in Dallas during the 2025 season, followed by Waco in 2026.

According to the official release, Baylor will face SMU on Saturday, September 6, 2025, followed by SMU next season on Saturday, September 19, 2026 heading to Waco. While the matchup will officially take place between Power 4 Opponents in both 2025 and 2026, Baylor will compete against a total of 11 different Power 4 teams.

SMU will officially become a member of the ACC on Monday, July 1, joining the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford University, following approval by the ACC Board of Directors on September 1, 2023.

SMU opted to leave the AAC after winning the league in 2023 with an 11-3 overall record and a perfect 9-0 record in league play. Stanford and Cal were two of the last four remaining members of the Pac-12 Conference alongside Oregon State and Washington State, but opted to join the ACC in hopes of staying relevant in the Power 4.

Now that the games are officially scheduled, Baylor Football has only one remaining non-conference game to fulfill in 2025 and 2026.
