Middletown Art Group presents spring show

The Middletown Art Group 2024 Members Spring Exhibition features 105 artworks by 40 artists in a variety of media: photography, oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, watercolor, mixed media, recycled and/or found objects, and collage. Likewise, the works emphasize many styles, techniques and sizes.

The time frame of the exhibition is May 8 to June 26. The location is Orange Hall Gallery, SUNY Orange.

Tom Hedderich, who lives in the Black Dirt region of Orange County, is the judge for this year’s show. His assessment resulted in the award of four awards for excellence and four commendations.

In addition, the Middletown Art Group decided to present an award to a SUNY Orange art student whose work was featured in this year’s Emerging Visions student art exhibit. The student and painting chosen by MAG artists are Faith Call and Zoomed Still Life.

The art group’s 78th anniversary reception is scheduled for Sunday, May 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. During this period, musicians Bev Poyerd, pianist and Al Ramos, bassist will play jazz standards and contemporary favorites. The exhibitions and reception are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am to 8pm and Friday from 8am to 5pm through May, and Monday to Thursday from 8am to 6pm in June only. The gallery is closed on Memorial Day Weekend.

Orange Hall is located on the corner of Wawayanda and Grandview Avenue.
