Why Tom Brady Won’t Make a Roast Anymore

Sorry sports fans, Tom Brady will never make another roast. The NFL icon said this after the reaction his family received when he was the star of Netflix The best roast of all time: Tom Brady.

“I loved it when the jokes were about me, I thought they were so funny,” Brady said, per People. “I didn’t like the way this affected my children. So the hardest part is the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is only one way, and then suddenly you realize that I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected the people that I wanted. care about the most in the world.”

Brady is a father of three and shares children Benjamin and Vivian with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and son Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

“I wanted to do the branding because the guy Jeff Ross became someone I knew, and then you don’t always see the full picture. So I think it’s a good lesson for me as a parent. This will make me a better parent and at the same time I’m glad everyone who attended had a lot of fun,” he added.

Brady concluded his message that he, his teammates and other athletes “like to laugh in the locker room.”

“Let’s do more of that and love each other and come on man, celebrate the success of others. To me, that gives everyone a lot of hope,” he said.

Bündchen didn’t hold back on how she felt about her family being targeted during the Netflix roast. According to People, a source told the network that Bündchen is “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday night’s roast show.”

The source continued: “As always, (Bündchen’s) priority is to support her children who have been affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcast.”

“Over the past week, Gisele has worked tirelessly to help those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is experiencing the worst flooding in its history,” the source added. “She was concerned about the family affected by the devastating floods, so it was very disappointing to hear her life being made fun of.”

After hearing that Bündchen was “offended” by some of the jokes made during the roast, a source told Us Weekly that Brady apologized.

“She believes her new relationship should have been off limits. Tom has contacted Gisele to apologize to her,” the source said. “They are cordial and only communicate about the children.”

The source adds that Bündchen is “aware that it belongs in the realm of roast meat, but did not think that so many comments would be made about her and especially about her new relationship”

Another source added that “as with any roast, neither Tom nor any of the participants knew in advance what would be said about them”. “But like any roast, they focus on the public parts of your life,” the source continued. “Their children were always off limits. Everything was all in good fun.”
