The collision occurred at approximately 2:06 PM on May 14, 2024. The collision occurred at the intersection of D Street and the northbound I-15 off-ramp to the D St exit.

The vehicles involved in this crash were a white Nissan Pathfinder SUV and a tractor-trailer, listed in the CHP traffic log.

It was reported that the semi pulling a set of mini belly dump trailers lost its brakes while coming off the highway. The semi went through the intersection, where the semi made contact with the Nissan and was stabbed. The driver of the Nissan was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The semi driver was not injured.

Commuters did look for alternative routes in the afternoon because the road was closed.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be investigated by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
