Film set ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ will be released October 2025

Warner Bros. has set the premiere date for Mortal Kombat 2 as October 24, 2025, according to variety. This highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 reboot will screen exclusively in theaters, including IMAX screens, and is a departure from the simultaneous streaming and theatrical release that characterized its predecessor during the pandemic.

Directed by Simon McQuoid (who also directed the 2021 reboot) and written by Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight), Mortal Kombat 2 wrapped filming in January. The film’s production has entered post-production phase and is ensuring the high expectations of the franchise’s loyal fanbase are met.
