Lisa Armstrong’s fans are rallying behind her as she shares a heartbreaking post

Lisa Armstrong’s loyal supporters have expressed their condolences and backed the make-up artist after she published a moving message to mark five years since her father’s death. The Strictly make-up artist, 47, turned to Instagram to share an image of her father Derek’s gravestone.

It was inscribed: “In memory of Dot Armstrong, tragically taken June 29, 1992 and Derek John Armstrong April 12, 1948 – May 13, 2019. Sadly missed husband, father and grampy. Forever in our hearts.”

The heartfelt message accompanying the photo, which was posted earlier this week, read: “My heart…. 5 years #MyDegs #MyHero,” and included several desolate emojis. In response, friends and fans poured into the comments section with expressions of sympathy and support.

Vanessa Feltz wrote, “Sorry honey,” and another fan offered, “Oh Lise. So sad. He was a sweet man. Sending you my love.” Both Lizzie Cundy and Alan Carr shared emotional emojis.

Lisa has repeatedly posted messages remembering her father over the years since his death. These moments include the anniversary of his death as well as significant birthdays, the Mirror reports.

In 2020, she spoke about their bond a year after his death, saying: “I can’t believe a year has passed. It still seems so surreal. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you, your smile, your laugh , your encouragement and most of all your love. I will always be daddy’s girl.”
