Mouser has announced a new series of interactive content in partnership with Littelfuse, a global leader in circuit protection and power management.

‘Electrifying the Future of eMobility’ features articles and infographics that explore the challenges of creating different charging solutions for different use cases. The electrification of small passenger cars, scooters and commercial electric vehicles can vary greatly. Off-road EVs used in agriculture or construction, such as tractors and bulldozers, also require more robust charging and storage capabilities than passenger vehicles. Circuit protection, battery management and improving the efficiency of electrical systems are discussed, as well as rising expectations for the occupant experience, such as advanced infotainment systems, driver assistance systems and vehicle autonomy.

The content series also showcases many key Littelfuse products that play a critical role in addressing the design challenges of vehicle electrification. The SiC MOSFETs are critical for more efficient power management within the vehicle’s electrical system and offer several advantages over conventional silicon-based components. The higher efficiency of SiC MOSFETs results in less energy loss due to heat. This reduces the need for extensive cooling systems, making them more suitable for the demanding environments of commercial electric vehicles.

The Littelfuse 437A surface-mounted fuses are AEC-Q200 qualified, making them robust and reliable enough to work in the automotive environment. These devices help protect the power distribution unit, BMS and on-board charger. The 881 SMD fuses provide overcurrent protection for high current circuits such as routers, high-performance battery systems and power distribution. ESD protection devices such as the AXGD Xtreme-Guard auto suppressors provide ultra-low capacitance to protect high-speed lines such as automotive Ethernet.
